#GlitterNails

Glitter nails are suitable for both holidays and everyday wear (though in this case it should not be “overloaded” - it is advisable to use shimmer dust or a minimal amount of large glitter). In summer, any designs look good, even acidic and neon ones, and in autumn and winter, glitter is best combined with calm shades.

Short Glitter Nails

There is an opinion that glitter does not look good on short nails. But it is wrong: all women can wear such a manicure, regardless of the length and shape of the nail plate. It is only important to choose the right design:

  • For full coverage, light and pastel shades of varnish (pink, blue, lavender, milky, light green) with a small shimmer are suitable.
  • If you want something bright and eye-catching, you can cover your nails with any color varnish, and then draw patterns with glitter on one finger. To get a delicate pattern, you will need a shimmer with a particle size of 0.1-0.2 mm.
  • You shouldn't get carried away with glitter with large particles: it visually shortens the nails. But accents made with it look very beautiful. It is enough to place a couple of such sparkles closer to the edge of the nail (only women with long nail beds can afford designs with glitter near the cuticle).

Lifehack: a vertical shimmer stripe in the center visually lengthens the fingers (and the nails themselves). But it shouldn't be too wide.

Long Glitter Nails?

Owners of long nails can afford any design using glitter. But the most popular were and remain such designs:

  • One nail completely covered with glitter. In this case, the color of the base polish should not be striking - white, light pink or beige are ideal. You can also take gray or black shades - they are visually "heavier", but are perceived as neutral. If you neglect this rule, you will get a very flashy and shocking manicure.
  • Ombre. It is done in any direction - from the cuticle up, from the top edge down, from the right or left side to the center. Ombre can be color (in this case, the stretch is done with glitter of one color, but shades of different tones are used, from dark to the lightest) and geometric (the diameter of the glitter changes - from large to small).
  • French nails with glitter on the tips. The main color of the nail is usually nude, but deep dark shades of red, green and other colors also look stylish.
  • Geometric patterns. They can mix glitter of different colors and sizes, but it is not advisable to decorate all nails this way - it is enough to make a design on one or two fingers of each hand. For such patterns, glitter of a contrasting color is used (for example, blue or purple on a light gray coating) or metallic - silver, gold.

Glitters are great for creating voluminous designs. To get a 3D effect, you can apply them in several layers over regular colored polish, fixing them with a transparent one, or use them in combination with gel polish (in this case, the glitter is “soldered” into the coating - the likelihood that they will fall off at the most inopportune moment is close to zero).

Glitter on nails is beautiful and stylish, but such a manicure sometimes causes inconvenience. For example, designs made with regular polish are difficult to remove with acetone or acetone-free products - the fine shimmer seems to eat into the surface of the nail. But this is also a plus - a coating made with shimmer polish, in most cases, lasts longer than usual.
