The meaning of the rune tattoo
The ancient Scandinavian script supposedly appeared in the 1st century AD and was widely used before the adoption of Christianity. Initially, 24 runes were used (elder futhark), later - 16 (younger futhark). They served not only for writing and making calendars, but also for magical purposes.
There is a theory that the ancient Slavs also used runes. Their style and meaning were somewhat different from the Scandinavian ones.
Today, runes are used in fortune telling and also serve as amulets. Thus, among Slavic amulets, the symbols “Bereginya” (female amulet), “Peace” (protection), and “Dazhdbog” (abundance) are used as amulets.

Design options for a tattoo depicting a rune
Ancient Scandinavian letters are printed both in the form of individual symbols and in a single composition with the image of a wolf, warrior, ship, etc. There are drawings with a combination of runes: compass (helps to find the right path in life), helmet of horror (amulet of ancient warriors), walknaut (three triangles, symbolizing the unity of the world of the living, the dead and the gods).
Magic symbols are printed mainly in monochrome, and sometimes in a combination of black and red.
It is recommended that a sketch for a tattoo with runes be drawn up by a specialist who is directly involved in such esoteric practices. Then the drawing on the body will become a real talisman.
